Koko Gastro 

KoKo Gastro Bar in Jaco is a beachfront restaurant known for its fresh and creative menu, blending Costa Rican and contemporary cuisine. Popular for its vibrant atmosphere, ocean views, and dishes like tuna poke, fish tacos, and steak specials, it offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The venue is praised for its friendly staff, beachside dining, and vegan-friendly choices. However, reviews mention occasional service delays during busy times. It’s a great spot for sunsets and casual dining with a view. $$

Cibo

 

Cibo Restaurant, located in Jaco’s Ocean Plaza, offers an authentic Italian dining experience with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional recipes. Known for its artisan pizza dough aged for 36 hours, the restaurant is led by an Italian pizza chef with 20 years of experience. Their menu highlights include classic Neapolitan pizzas, house-made mozzarella, and slow-cooked lasagna with Angus beef ragù. Cibo also emphasizes sustainability by sourcing ingredients from local farmers.

Guests rave about their tiramisu, made in-house with fresh ingredients and a hint of amaretto. The restaurant operates with a welcoming ambiance, serving lunch and dinner daily from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM.  $$

Ruca

Ruca Restaurant, also known as Ruca Cocina, is a charming dining spot located on the south end next to Puddlefish Brewery. This Argentinan restaurant is one of our favorites featuring everything you can imagine with Argentina cuisine, great steaks, and wines, it is a must visit. Known for its laid-back yet stylish atmosphere, Ruca is a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking a memorable dining experience. $$

Ohana

Ohana Sushi Tapas Bar is a great open-air restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner.  This smaller, casual restaurant features some amazing sushi and veggie rolls, along with excellent rice bowls and salads. The owner is well trained in Sushi and has created a great atmosphere for his craft. Visit Ohana website.

Jaco Bar

Dont be mislead with the name, Jaco Bar features some of the best food in Jaco!  It is the perfect casual lunch or dinner spot, with AC, and a diverse menu of local Costa Rican dishes and mix of some popular American dishes.  From burgers and salads, to Ceviche and wraps, some of favorites include the Patacones, the Chanco bowl (Costa Rica Chifrio) and that Ceviche!  While you are there try a chiliguaro, one of the best in town.  

Green Room

One of our overall favorites.  Good food, affordable, and an awesome vibe.  This large open-air restaurant is a popular spot for lunch, breakfast, and dinner.  Green Room Cafe prides itself on its fresh and organic ingredients. Locals just love the relaxed vibe, featuring great local art and creative drinks. Located right in the center of town, Green Room features live music every night.

Lemonzest

A longtime favorite in Jaco Beach, Lemon Zest never disappoints.  Chef Richard Lemon brings years of experience, classic techniques, modern presentations, and amazing flavor combinations using the freshest local ingredients.  Seating is limited and it is often busy so best to make reservations. Mono Verde

Well, first of all, any place that has $2 Margaritas all the time should get anyone’s attention.  Add to the fact that they are delicious, with many different types including passionfruit, mango, and coconut!  But Mono Verde also has some great food and sits in a great spot.  Go inside to cool off and enjoy some AC or catch a table right outside which is ideal for people-watching. Panaderia Artesanal

Also referred to by most locals as Leandro’s, this local bakery and cafe is ideal for breakfast, lunch, or enjoying a quick pastry and coffee.  Get your fix of amazing crepes, croissants, bagels, and much more. The Pizza Shop

It’s hard to find any place in town that captures the personality of Jaco better than The Pizza Shop.  Owned by a couple of young surfers, and located in the center of Jaco, the vibe is casual, laidback, and friendly.  Besides a variety of pizzas, The Pizza Shop offers sandwiches, wings, beer, and more.  Whether it is grabbing a quick slice or hanging out for a few beers, The Pizza Shop is definitely a local favorite in Jaco.  Delivery Available!
